We strictly use 925 sterling silver, a precious metal made from 92.5% pure silver, with a protective coating to prevent tarnish. Our hypoallergenic, brass-free, lightweight silver is ethically sourced and primarily from recycled sources. Mindful wear and proactive care are key to prolong the lifespan of sterling silver.

Gold Vermeil

Our vermeil is crafted with a 100% 925 sterling silver base, plated with a thick layer of 14-karat yellow gold at least 2.5 microns thick—over 500% thicker and longer lasting than regular gold plating and meeting official FTC guidelines—with a protective coating to prevent tarnish. Hypoallergenic and brass-free, we use recycled, ethically sourced gold. Mindful wear and proactive care are key to prolong the lifespan of gold vermeil.

Every Jane piece is handcrafted with the highest quality standards. While our sterling silver and gold vermeil are made to last, those materials are naturally sensitive to various environmental factors, such as air pollution, water, sulfur and strong chemicals, and can naturally tarnish over time. However, it is easy to restore their shine with proper care and maintenance. While thoughtfully crafted to handle the occasional splash, to avoid tarnishing, keep sterling silver and gold vermeil away from water whenever possible as they are not water-resistant/waterproof.
