STEP ONE
Ring Loop
Jane is the only brand to offer three unique hand chain ring sizes so you can find your perfect fit.
- US 5-6 (very small and petite)
- US 6-8 (fits most)
- US 8-11 (when in doubt, size up)
How to Measure
Jane hand chains are typically worn on the middle finger, so we recommend measuring that finger. Since the middle finger is usually the largest, measuring a smaller finger, like the ring finger, may result in an inaccurate fit.
We provide complimentary physical Ring Sizers which offer the greatest level of precision when determining your ring size at home. Alternatively, you can also use our printable Jane Sizer for an quick assessment.
Room to Breathe
One of the most important aspects of any hand chain fit is ensuring your finger has generous room to breathe. A hand chain is unlike any other type of jewelry and needs to be appropriately sized for everyday movement, namely wiggle room around the finger for when the hand flexes up and down. Our hand chains are not designed to be fit tightly around a finger like a traditional ring.
Size Up When in Doubt
We recommend sizing up when in doubt or in between sizes to avoid a fit that could be too tight (and risk inadvertent pressure on the chain).
STEP TWO
Motif Loop
Our motif chain is approximately 3.5 inches long (depending on the specific style). This is the chain that stretches from/connects the ring loop to the bracelet loop (in the middle of the hand chain).
How to Measure
Use a tape measure, a piece of string, or our printable Jane Sizer to see where the point on your wrist is that is 3.5 inches below the very bottom of your middle finger. Take this measurement with your hand extended fully flat on a table to ensure you get an accurate measurement.
Ensure that 3.5 inches below the very bottom of your middle finger would be a comfortable and appropriate place for the bracelet loop to be on your wrist. If 3.5 inches from the bottom of your middle finger does not reach below your palm, the hand chain likely will not fit.
STEP THREE
Bracelet Loop
Our hand chains comfortably accommodate wrists up to 6.85 inches. The total size of the bracelet loop using the last extension ring is 7 inches.
How to Measure
Use a tape measure, a piece of string, or our printable Jane Sizer to gather your wrist measurement.
Wrap the measuring instrument around the point on your wrist that is 3.5 inches below the very bottom of your middle finger (ensure you identify the correct point of reference from laying your hand on a flat surface).
Mark the point where the two ends meet. If you're using a piece of string, place the string flat and use a ruler to measure the length up to your mark.
Room to Breathe
It's important to ensure your wrist has ample room to breathe for when the hand naturally flexes up and down. Our hand chains are not designed to be worn tightly around the wrist (a fit that is too tight can risk inadvertent pressure on the chain).
